Sophie and Jonny recently headed to CENTR’s 30th International Annual Marketing Workshop at the Oxford Spires Hotel.
Our MD Jonny presented a talk titled ‘7 Things I’ve Learnt About Branding’ at the workshop. His talked delivered key insights around brand building in today’s internet-driven world, with a focus on how brands can create or break consumer trust in the realm of clickbait and fake news.
Jonny presents to the workshop's audience
Not familiar with CENTR or Nominet?
The workshop was run by CENTR, who supports the development of high standards and best practice across the internet’s country-code top-level domain name system (DNS). CENTR’s members are collectively responsible for over 80% of all registered domain names worldwide and are at the heart of internet policymaking.
Nominet is a public benefit, tech-for-good organisation operating at the heart of the UK’s internet. Simply put, these are domains such as .it for Italy, .de for Germany and .uk for Britain. The audience was made up of representatives of domain and registry companies coming from as far afield as Japan and Canada, as well as across Europe.
Dinner is served!
The day’s workshop was followed by an invitation to a walking tour of Oxford which was particularly enlightening, as both Jonny and Sophie are both from the Oxford area originally and knew little of the local insight given. The evening ended with a fabulous dinner in the sculpture garden of the Ashmolean museum located in the city centre.
